These limited edition phurba pendants were crafted in Bhutan from sacred terma-iron sourced from the ancient suspension bridges of the 15th-century Mahasiddha Tangtong Gyalpo. The Mahasiddha personally gathered this iron from offerings and deposits across the Himalayas, forging the original links while maintaining a continuous state of prayer to Avalokiteśvara. The iron comprising each phurba are authentically sourced and made into ritual daggers as directed by our Khenpo.
“The great adept also constructed many stūpas... and is famous in Tibet and the Himalayan regions for building many iron suspension bridges... Tangtong Gyalpo was the greatest engineer in Tibetan history... His many iron bridges, monasteries, and stūpas have enriched Tibetan culture for over five hundred years.”
