Manipuri bowls are among the earliest traditional forms, usually shallow and rounded in shape. They were made in a wide range of sizes, from very small to large, and are known for their versatility of sound. Depending on size and thickness, Manipuri bowls can produce tones ranging from the lower second octave up to the fifth.
In Himalayan lore, singing bowls were once said to be forged from seven sacred metals—gold, silver, copper, tin, iron, lead, and mercury—each linked with celestial bodies. The Manipuri Bowl, a shallow, lightweight form with a flat base, carries this lineage in spirit while today being crafted from safe bronze alloys. Its bright, high-to-mid tones are especially used for higher chakra work—Heart, Throat, Third Eye, and Crown—and in Ayurveda and planetary healing. Traditionally associated with the Moon (Chandra) and silver, its clear resonance soothes emotional turbulence, easing anxiety, mood swings, and insomnia, and reconnecting the listener with inner peace and the divine feminine.
Includes a wooden striker and padded base with each bowl.
