Many ancient cultures believe in using incense in a ritualistic manner in order to spiritually cleanse a person, place or thing.
An incense-like substance is blessed and burned; the resulting smoke is also blessed and acts as a physical representation of divinity, driving out negativity where ever it goes. Taoist, Buddhist, Catholic and many other religious cultures use the same concept of burning incense to drive out negativity and anchor divine energy; this process is known as “smudging”.
his incense wand is traditionally used in Vajrayana Buddhist ceremonies. One can simply place a bundle of incense into the base of the wand, and gently pull out a few sticks to burn at a time.
