A gau is a Tibetan Buddhist reliquary. It is often worn as a necklace and is used to hold sacred objects such as dutsi and other holy relics. 
This gold-metal gau has the Kalachakra insignia on the front.

• These gau come with a pill called ringsel, which has said to have been magically reproduced from an original bone of Shakyamuni.
