Silver Phurba Pendant

$150.00
Regular price $150.00

This pendant takes the form of a phurba, the three-bladed ritual dagger of Vajrayana practice. It is made of 925 sterling silver.

Created by Brazilian artist Marcela Chaves, who has trained in the ritual arts of Tibetan torma making at Chagdud Gonpa Khadro Ling since 2016. While her primary profession is as a veterinarian and surgeon, her passion for artistic detail has always been apparent. Her experiences learning ritual arts and serving at Chagdud Gonpa Brazil have profoundly inspired her personal art and creativity.

Marcela’s jewelry collection and ornaments reflect her aspiration to use these creations as a form of blessing and a way to remain connected to the joy of Dharma in daily life.

“The triple blade of the phurba, which is described as ‘a ferocious striker issuing from the jaws of a makara’, symbolises the overcoming or cutting through of the three root poisons of ignorance, desire, and hatred. The properties of its triangular shape, representing the element fire, symbolise wrathful activity.”
