Kapalas, or skullcups, are used as ritual implements in Vajrayana and tantric practices. Traditionally made out of human skull, skullcups are used to represent the transformation of delusion into wisdom.
This skullcup is made with carved resin. The details include a double dorje, 8 auspicious symbols, and metal skulls on the outside.
As bone kapalas are difficult to acquire, many replicas are made available in other materials for use. Often used for men and rakta on a shrine.
