The snow lion is the national symbol of Tibet and can be found on the national flag, government seals, and currency. As the king of all beasts, the snow lion represents the Shakyamuni Buddha.
This fanciful hand-glazed ceramic figure is made by the Association of Craft Producers in Nepal. Artisans use locally sourced clay and hand crafted molds to cast the figure and then bake in a traditional brick kiln. Holes are sized for either Tibetan or resin stick incense, or both.
