Water bowls are traditionally offered every morning on Buddhist shrines and altars as a means of practicing generosity. As a set of seven, they represent the offering of drinking water, wash water, flowers, incense, light, perfume and food. They are generally filled from left to right and consecrated with mantras and prayers mantras such as Ocean of Siddhis. These exceptionally crafted bowls are made of a white bronze metal alloy identical to bells. Although not intended to be a gong, if tapped it makes beautiful sound.
